Hear It, Say It
Three personalised sessions to help you connect the Italian you see
with the Italian you hear.
You may recognise a word on the page but hesitate when you try to say it aloud. Why, for example, does the waiter look puzzled when you ask for some ghiaccio for your drink?
Or you may hear an unfamiliar word but have no idea what to type into a dictionary to find out what it means.
Italian spelling can give you a clear idea of how a word should sound, once you know what to notice. Over three sessions, you’ll choose the words and sounds you’d like to work on, and we’ll practise them through useful Italian words and phrases. As the connections between spelling and sound become clearer, you’ll approach unfamiliar words with less hesitation and guesswork.
